Position Overview:

We are looking for a talented and experienced DataStage Developer to join our team. The ideal candidate will have at least 5 years of hands-on experience in DataStage, Unix, SQL, and Data Warehousing. As a DataStage Developer, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining data integration solutions to support business intelligence and data warehousing initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and develop ETL processes using for the integration of data from various sources (e.g., databases, flat files, APIs) to data warehouses.
  • Implement data transformation, data cleansing, and data validation logic in DataStage jobs.
  • Create and maintain SQL scripts for data manipulation, queries, and reporting purposes.
  • Develop and optimize Unix Shell Scripts for automating ETL jobs and scheduling processes.
  • Work closely with business analysts, data architects, and other developers to ensure data requirements are met.
  • Perform data profiling, testing, and debugging to ensure high-quality data integration solutions.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to ETL processes, performance bottlenecks, and data discrepancies.
  • Monitor job performance, resource usage, and implement performance tuning techniques.
  • Ensure data quality and consistency by implementing robust error handling, logging, and auditing mechanisms.
  • Collaborate in data warehouse design and architecture discussions, ensuring seamless data flow and integration.
  • Follow best practices for version control, job deployment, and documentation.
  • Stay updated with the latest technologies and trends in data integration and ETL tools.

 

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience).
  • 5+ years of experience in DataStage development, including building ETL jobs, data integration, and transformation.
  • Strong proficiency in SQL for data querying, manipulation, and reporting.
  • Proficiency in Unix/Linux for shell scripting and job automation.
  • Solid understanding of Data Warehousing concepts and methodologies.
  • Experience working with large datasets and data structures in a distributed environment.
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills, particularly with ETL processes and performance issues.
  • Familiarity with version control tools (e.g., Git, SVN) and job scheduling tools (e.g., Control-M).
  • Ability to work in a collaborative environment, communicating effectively with cross-functional teams.
